A match made in heaven for the last single before MCA’s death. The infectious pop reggae sunshine feel makes it a perfect summer record. ’20 years of school and then they put you on the day shift’ is a sentence that can also be heard in Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues. The video clip was directed by Spike Jonze and is pretty cool. SebastiAn did a cool remix which is way better than the more popular remix by Major Lazer. The original is still the best though.

Brilliant song off his latest album ‘Wit’s End’ out on Domino.

Kinda like the groove of this hate-it-or-love-it song: dubsteppy beat and a cool motownish sample that’s mixed into a sort of duet between a sped up and slowed down bit. Apparently the sample comes from Sandra Richardson’s 1971 single I Feel A Song (In My Heart) released on Buddha Records and later covered by Gladys Knight & The Pips. Both worth a listen! Samples like these always work e.g. Justice, Daft Punk, Moby, Fake Blood and every other electronic producer in the universe. It’s also their first and probably a one-time release on the cool French label Ed Banger.
